I showed this to my wife who is in academia. It can't replace academics because research, by its very definition, has to be new, but good God it's going to make her job impossibly hard - it's trivially easy to pump out papers with this tool. Once students catch on, it's going to be really hard to figure out what's a real paper and what's AI-generated. And journals are going to have a real hard time dealing with "paper spam".
