- jfengel 4y agoThis is a really, really big deal. Not just for curing previously uncurable C. diff infections, but as a model for a whole new kind of treatment. The FDA is really slow to approve new kinds of things. They want it to be standardized and repeatable. Arguably that's justifiable caution, but it means that a lot of patients are cut off from even trying things that might help (and pushing a lot to quack medicine in the process). Having a pattern for future fecal transplant applications could save a lot of people a lot of suffering.
