(I only care because I pay my kids' allowance in crypto, and they manage it with Coinbase Wallet on their iPads. This is what I have been doing with all that promotional XLM I got for free from Keybase before they got resorbed into Zoom.)
- SamBam 4y agoAre they able to buy comics (or beyblades/roblox/candy/whatever) with their crypto?
- veidr 4y agoWell, I mean in theory they could just use whatever crypto exchange would let a 7-year-old transact business (which is probably not none?), but to avoid encouraging them to seek out such things, I consent to act as their bank. So they can send me XLM,and then buy things in USD or JPY at whatever the prevailing rate is (I use Exodus, so whatever that app shows is the rate). So far, everything they have purchased relates to video games (games, DLC, and I was particularly impressed my 8-year-old bought himself a used Wii U older than he is, and an optical disc version of Paper Mario: Color Splash). This also lets me charge a 500% "Moron Tax" for most in-game purchases — cosmetics, pay-to-win mechanics, etc. (But they are sometimes willing to pay it, for their own inscrutable reasons...)
