Ask HN: Who are your favorite devs to follow on GitHub who star a lot?
I believe that following the "best" devs on GitHub is a great way to stay up-to-date with the most interesting new projects in my areas of interest (mostly JS / TS / Rust / WebGL / React).
A lot of devs do great on social but aren't as active on GitHub, and conversely, a lot of devs are really active on GitHub but post less on social media, so their reach is much more limited.
So HN: who are your favorite devs to follow on GitHub who provide the best signal-to-noise ratio for staying up-to-date about the latest & greatest OSS projects??
- transitivebs 4y agoSome of my faves: 1. https://github.com/josephjacks https://github.com/josephjacks — JJ is the founder of OSS Capital and is always starring high quality open core products and OSS projects which are ripe for $$ in the future. He doesn't do much dev himself, but his signal-to-noise quality on GH is unmatched. 2. https://github.com/schickling https://github.com/schickling — Johannes is the founder of Prisma and is always tinkering with innovative data layer stuff. He stars a lot of next-gen JS / TS / Rust projects. 3. https://github.com/Anish-Agnihotri https://github.com/Anish-Agnihotri - Anish sits at the intersection of crypto and webapps. Half of his stars tend to be cool web3 primitives and half tend to be innovative JS / TS / Rust projects. 4. https://github.com/egoist https://github.com/egoist — Egoist (Kevin) is always working on quality TS projects and is one of a very few select devs who've managed to work on open source full-time. 5. https://github.com/talentlessguy https://github.com/talentlessguy — v1rtl / nullstack / talentlessguy (pick a name haha!) is very active in starring dope TS / Rust / Solidity projects. He works on a lot of TS experiments, but I mainly follow him for his breadth of stars. 0. My GitHub: https://github.com/transitive-bullshit https://github.com/transitive-bullshit — I'm pretty active in starring the best JS / TS / Rust / WebGL / React projects that I come across.
