Personal anecdotes from a family member of mine who is just breaking into genetic research at an Ivy:
- Power tripping principal investigators
- Cutthroat competition leading to actual sabotage (researcher deliberately social engineered their way into a former lab and unplugged a sample freezer)
- Gossip that makes Mean Girls look tame
- Abysmal, poverty tier wages for people who have PhDs
- derbOac 4y agoThat's the tip of the iceberg really. Pretending the iceberg doesn't exist and doesn't hit ships is also part of the problem.
