Ask HN: What books should entrepreneurs read to help them survive 2023?
The year ahead is already promising in terms of challenges to entrepreneurs both on the macro and micro levels (inflation, recession, quite quitting, ...). What books would you recommend to help better understand and mitigate these challenges?
- warrenm 4y agoThe same books that entrepreneurs needed to read/imbibe to "help them survive" in every previous year New books are exciting toys - but the old ones are [almost] always better My back of the envelope guess is that 10% of all "new" business/entrepreneurial/economics/etc texts are going to be worth reading in a year Of those, 10% will be worth reading in a decade Look at what's survived and carries the weight of continued availability instead of always looking for the latest and "greatest" management book Better yet, find actual meat-world people who have been there and done that, and get their advice
- ahmedfromtunis 4y agoI should've made it clear above but I don't necessarily look for new books. But since the economic context has changed over the past year or so, I thought some old litterature written back when inflation and interest rates were at record levels may be of help if (re)read today. New books I can find them easily, but it's the old and gold stuff that's hard to come by.
