  >From Silicon Valley boardrooms to rural communes to academic philosophy departments, a seemingly inconceivable idea is being seriously discussed: that the end of humanity’s reign on Earth is imminent, and that we should welcome it. This is a left-wing viewpoint. Each of those 3 entities are all left wing. This is also in line with: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extinction_Rebellion https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extinction_Rebellion This belief of imminent society collapse has been around long enough to categorize these groups as the same doomsayers as the mayan calendar folks. There is absolutely no climate apocalypse. humanity isn't going extinct and denying these outrageous baseless claims is not the equivalent of 'cheering on our demise' I think this is a key debate area which the conservatives/republicans don't understand the liberals/democrats.
