I joined IRC to humbly propose a feature. "Why would anyone want that?"
Not copying anything useful from Photoshop was a point of pride.

GIMP didn't have any actual improvements to offer, but they went out of their way to NOT make a PS clone, out of sheer pettiness and ego. Like, magic wand tool is called fuzzy selection or something? Why? Why introduce a point of possible confusion for no reason whatsoever?
