Intel's Knights X stuff is done using pragmas, so yeah pretty much as simple as OpenMP. Not that that's really necessary, I mean the complexity of scientific computing (parallelism, numerical stability, etc.) means the programmers that do it have no trouble with CUDA et al (which is fairly simple if you just forget about coherency).
