Elon Musk seems to do a lot of things from intuition / gut, when he's not busy claiming other people's work as his own. For example, he spent a ton of resources into the Tesla megafactories trying to automate 100% of the process end to end. What he found was what manufacturers already knew, which is that it ended up not being worth the cost trying to program robots to manipulate numerous small objects in 3D space. In this I recall he claimed it was one of his biggest mistakes. Now we're seeing him again operate largely from emotion and intuition, driven by what appears to be ego and energy from sycophants. Ultimately this has already cost him big, but I think we're just seeing the beginning of the problems that lay ahead for him
