CNN Layoffs Begin
- incomingpain 4y agoCNN had a great reputation back in the day. What happened far more recently was they hired political activists pretending to be journalists. They were allowed to publish lies at the cost of their reputation. CNN ran out of reputation, now must pay.
- PaulHoule 4y agoThe bias at CNN is "if it bleeds it leads". They liked having fights with Trump not because they were aligned against the Republicans but because outrageous fights with Trump would bring in viewers just like crazy shouting matches at pro wrestling matches. Trump was the best thing that ever happened to CNN and I blame CNN for Trump getting elected because they put Trump on 24-7 in 2016 because his outrageousness got ratings. Not long before you would see the pundits sit around on a slow news Sunday on CNN and discuss the problem that nobody wants to news. Then all of a sudden people would tune to CNN because they knew in the next few minutes something nuts would come out of Trump's mouth. If they hadn't given Trump vast amounts of free publicity he would have had to solicit donors and buy advertisements just like any other politician. Killing CNN+ was corporate suicide on the part of CNN. Going "all in" on the cable bundle and not developing a brand apart from the cable bundle is a choice to go down with the Titanic.
