Here's a conspiracy theory: since building more charaging stations can influence people a lot more on using EVs, which will hurt gasoline car sales and their revenue, and will also hurt the oil industry as a whole as well. Since both industry still have a high margin of profits, they won't give up that easily, thus the gasoline car manufacturers and oil companies deliberately collaborated with critical EV infrastructure stakeholders such as lawyers and landlords to control the amount of changing stations to checkmate the EV industry.
