Reminds me of those people who marry their dolls.
GPT-3 is not a person. The biggest risk with new ai tech is that it will learn to win us over, seeming like people, when there is nothing happening on the inside but number crunching. Earning empathy despite having no feelings.
- an_ko 4y agoI'm pretty sure if I look closely enough, I'm nothing but numbers myself. My feelings don't exist, they're just side effects of evolved processes that made my ancestors survive, generated by a neural network too complex to debug. Compared to GPT-3 though, I'm better at pretending to be a person. (The above was generated by GPT-3.) (No it wasn't.)
