Killer apps are steel production, fertilizer, and cargo ships that run on ammonia. Electricity is not a feasible replacement for any of those. Also hydrogen production can use excess solar power in the beginning and doesn't have an issue using intermittent energy sources like solar and wind. There is definitely a large role for green hydrogen in the future, barring some crazy new technology being developed.
