If we needed a Shopify for the left-wingers and a Shopify for the right-wingers. If we had to gauge all our commercial relations on whether we approved of the political convictions held by other customers of our vendors. What an exhausting selection process it would be indeed!” As dystopian as that sounds it seems to be inevitable. The entire tech stack is dominated by a group of ideologues who seem disinterested in even considering that many users/employees aren’t aligned with their views. One group thinks the others are pedophiles. The other group thinks everyone who disagrees with them is a Nazi. This is unsustainable. I suspect the economy will split along ideological lines. We’re already seeing this as people turn away from legacy media outlets and overtly authoritarian ToS agreements like PayPal.
