I have been very actively using Twitter for around 18 months and I have two observations on this 1. When someone is beginner and they see such threads, they engage with it (either like, retweet or bookmark) so that they will save the resources for later use. 2. They engage (quote retweet or comment) on such threads to get engagement in return. The "influencer" in this context will reply/engage back with them giving them more attentions. This becomes useful in both ways and also this is considered as a perfect way to gain followers. May be thats why :D
