I would much rather be part of a community whose members are verified amongst each other. Paying for verification does not solve the problem of determining who is a legitimate user. I’m more capable of vouching that a user is genuine through my interaction with them, than a system designed simply to take money and dole out a blue check mark. I’ve never been a fan of anything that is “pay to play”. That’s usually the foundation of a rigged system.
