Elon Musk says Apple has ‘threatened to withhold Twitter’ from the App Store
- monsecchris 4y agoIf it is in regards to the fees Twitter is charging for its services it will be interesting to see which avenues it might travel legally. The wiki article on Epic Games vs Apple[1] is a good read which may pave some way. My impression was public sentiment was generally in favour of Epic Games during that suit, however I'm sure we will see an abundance of people mysteriously support Apple while the general principles remain the same. - WheelsAtLarge 4y agooh ya, both google and apple get a cut of all the revenue that goes through the apps. If he fights them, it's unlikely he's going to win anytime soon. One more obstacle to deal with. 30% of gross revenue is a big deal. Given a 50% profit margin for twitter (very hard to get) it's like having apple/google as your equal partner in business. It's more likely that twitter will get less profit than apple/goggle on each twitters sale. No wonder twitter didn't offer direct sales to app users. I think he's just realizing the impact. Yikes...
