Yeah, I quite agree. Reposting my comment from above here because this makes a better thread ... I think this 10 minute delay might actually be intended to be protective for the protestors. Any radio transmitter is a beacon that can be localized and destroyed. In serious warfare this is a major issue. "I'm up, they see me, I'm down" is drilled into military operators early and often.
- randyrand 4y agoYou think Apple is trying to protect protestors? Do you know which country manufactures the iPhone? Apple is not suicidal.
- xpe 4y agoThere is a delicate balance of action and phrasing in China, no? It seems two contradictory ideas can coexist for significant lengths of time; e.g. see the complexities around Taiwan's relationship with China. Perhaps someone with a deeper knowledge of the culture can explain it better.
