The main problem it solves is getting information to people under oppressive governments, and to people who don't have reliable access to a centralized internet connection. It doesn't have to be pretty or even fast, but any SOS of a peoples will be heard so as long as theyre near a device thats near a device thats... that connects to centralized normal internet cables. We can even start with a Morse Code protocol where only short messages are accepted.
