Glass wine bottles are too variable for re-use and most of them come from other countries but all glass is recycled here, it goes into the same bin as metal. However, a lot of wine is now sold in bag in box or even in Tetrapack style cartons. These cartons and boxes are also recycled in the same bin as cardboard and paper, the plastic internal bag is separated by the consumer and a sack of plastic is collected by the local authority every two weeks.
