I'm very suspicious of this. I signed up over a month ago to check it out before the takeover. I quickly tried to delete my account, but that request has been ignored now for over a month.
I would not be surprised if that is the least shady way Musk has gotten "signups at all-time high".

- dazc 4y agoYou may be discounting the numbers of former users who left long ago and don't have their previous login details? This would account for a fair number of new sign-ups.
- karmakaze 4y agoWhy would deleting (or not deleting) an account change a sign-up (vs retention) metric?
