This is one of those things I would think would have been tried earlier, but that they have some success is really intriguing. In particular the idea that you can "custom print" arbitrary shapes in wood has a real elf vibe to it. A lot of hand waving around "wood like properties" which I suspect will be a bigger issue going into commercialization, however if they could produce decent pulp replacement then the paper market would be disrupted right away.
