can Ubuntu be installed on a (former) chromebook?
- hedora 4y agoI've had good luck with Acer Aspire windows laptops. They're basically Intel/AMD Chromebooks, and are in the $100-$500 range. Keyboards and trackpads are generally tolerable (so, 75th percentile or so). I wish they'd make windows ARM laptops with less locked down (than Chromebook) BIOSes (that would also run Linux), but windows on arm is perpetually non-viable. The pine book pro is also a decent choice for a cheap Linux laptop.
