All of the shit about the cave diver, extramarital affairs, COVID, Texas, Twitter, etc. post-dates that, often by not much. > Elon Musk is a good example of someone who has devoted his life to a singular goal and then found that that goal is impossible, and then the last ~4 years has been the equivalent of a giant temper tantrum as that one organizing principle for his life broke down. He's just an extremely rich playboy with no purpose in life now, and it shows in his behavior. While we still had a reasonable chance of becoming a multi-planetary species, all that trauma and all that energy had an outlet and could be channeled into something productive.
