Would you bet money on that? Google Maps is pretty entrenched. A competing 2.4 trillion dollar company that preinstalled their app on the most popular phone in the US couldn't dethrone Google Maps.
- college_physics 4y agomy prediction was careful to pitch osm against wikipedia (both of which I love) not against the well known elephant in the room :-) but on your real point, yes its going to be a long slog...
