There's a slew of control standards in the lighting industry. Just in terms of wireless, there's z-wave, zigbee, RadioRA2, RadioRA3 (completely different protocol and frequency), and a bunch of others.
I'm personally about to experiment with DALI and zigbee-DALI bridges. Unfortunately, DALI seems more of a European thing, so finding suppliers as well as 120V-capable hardware is trickier (but possible).
