I once worked for 6 months on a third party integration that got canned. It didn't seem like BS while I was working on it but it was unpleasant to have my work thrown in the trash. Hey, I got my paycheck so I can't complain too much. Several years later I worked at a company that had a successful product and then the bosses decided to add a chat app as a new product. The bosses thought they could get people to pay for chat. Everyone else thought it was stupid. People don't pay for chat. I left that company but they did release the chat app after putting maybe 2 or 3 million dollars into it. Of course it was a spectacular failure. I hear that the chat app and it's servers still haven't been shut down, although it is no longer mentioned at all on the company's website.
