I was laid off. There are still job openings for tech positions. I’ve received numerous, unsolicited job offers through my network. But I’ve decided to take some time off. One reason is that tech compensation is so dependent on valuations and I want the dust to settle a bit before jumping back in. Another reason is that the pandemic has been very good to tech workers. Thankfully, I can afford a long break.
