All of the caste discrimination and violence I've heard of that took place in the US was perpetred against members of lower castes, particularly Dalits. Microsoft, apple, google, cisco, have all had major problems with caste discrimination, and these aren't isolated incidents. If india had truly moved on from caste, then it would not spontaneously reemerge in organizations without measures explicitly prohibiting it.

You "heard" it all around you recently is what proves my point. American media is desperately trying to paint Hindus = casteist angle for last few years now. So headlines are deliberately modified to amplify caste angle even when there is none. There aren't any cases about caste- there is only 1 Cisco case which was repeated on and on by media. As for caste awareness, do you believe Pew research is the best research agency out there ?
