Was glad to read this quote: “These kids want to live that way, want to have a good time, have at it.... I’m happy about it because that is what I fought for, so they can do whatever they hell they want.”
- graderjs 4y agoThis whole piece is making me teary-eyed...just so much sadness in this story. I think it captures the trauma, purpose, difficulty and after-effects of those type of experiences (his was in Afghanistan and other places) really well...helps that it's wrapped up in a hero piece. Very inspiring moment in that dude's life...also just so tragic that his daughter's boyfriend was killed :.(
