He's rough but effective. Other CEO's would have taken months or even years to layoff staff to reorient the company's workforce towards a new goal. They would have waited until the new year after the holidays. Musk does a big chunk or most of it in less than a month. Ouch!
Low level staff have the opportunity of a lifetime to move up now that everything is up for grabs. I hope they take advantage of the situation if the decided to stay.
I bet other CEO's are watching and we'll see them use similar methods in the future.
- prawn 4y agoThe festive season might've made for a bit of a bookend. Have to do it now otherwise the "fired two weeks before xmas!" stories get more aggressive. Though I imagine he was just trying to act fast and not necessarily thinking about this at all!
