It's interesting to me that the focus of this question is whether or not Wine experts are full shit or not. I have no trouble believing that with all the differences in inputs and technique, the final products would have material differences, and that some individuals are able to distinguish the difference. More interesting to me is whether with enough experience I (or most people) can develop into one of those people - ie whether it is more akin to learning to read or learning to dunk.
