I'm literally looking for other people with the same dysfunction if you want to talk. I took a look at Wirth's FPGA Project Oberon, but HDMI I think is simple enough to include. I think compatibility with modern C is a necessity, just because of the wealth that you can pull from at that point; I think it would be too difficult to program a C compiler for Wirth's RISC5 processor, but perhaps I'm wrong.
