> Elon Musk's ultimatum for Twitter workers did not go to plan.
I have real trouble believing this, especially with more layoffs announced today. Any way to confirm this is something more than media trying to stir excitement?
- rawgabbit 4y agoMore people voluntarily separated than Musk planned. He had to call a few "flight risks" and urge them to keep working at Twitter. [1] >Earlier Thursday, as Musk's deadline drew near and so few people were signing up, he and other company leaders asked team managers for lists of people they thought were "critical" to their work and Twitter's future but deemed "a flight risk," one of the people familiar said. Lists in hand Thursday, vice presidents and even Musk himself made calls to some engineers who didn't sign up to continue working. - Someone 4y agoIf this was the plan, it’s an extremely stupid plan. Even if the plan is to get rid of the entire payroll team, for example because you want to outsource payroll, you want at least a few of them in the transition because, without that, the transition will be rough and expensive (if there really is not payroll team at Twitter anymore, who even knows who’s still working there and who not? How do you know that you’re n) Companies typically do that by buying loyalty from a few employees: “yes, your job will be gone 3 months from now, but we’ll keep you on the payroll, including health insurance, for 12, and you’re free to do what you want after 3”
