Ask HN: Do regular users like the “neobrutalism” design or just the devs?

- salawat 4y agoRephrasing the question to highlight the answer: Do users like an aesthetic remarkable for it's not blending in anywhere, ease of construction, and lack of polish, or is the predilection towards brutalism a byproduct of the people making it not wanting to put in the care or work to make something fit? A few monents thought should make the answer clear.
- happyrock 4y agoDoes this refer to the same style as "Corporate Memphis"?
- gl-prod 4y agoI think "Corporate Memphis" is just illustration or graphics that can be used in any UI design (which can include neobrutalism).
- teetertater 4y agoTIL what the design is called, I used to attribute it to gumroad until I saw it elsewhere. I like it
- aosaigh 4y agoI associate it with Figma so I imagine its popularity extends beyond devs and into designers in general. That said, it feels like a trend that will eventually settle down again.
