Ash HN: Where do I start to build a POC?
I am a PM, who used to code over a decade back and have not kept in touch with the evolving tech stack. I have an idea that I want to POC. Help!!!
I want a simple website, iOS and Android app which allows invite only access, registration, login, a form, view progress and ability to send notifications on email to begin with
Ideally want a common front end that could be web based (web app, pwa?) and a simple backend
I want to do this myself. I used to be a dev but that was eons ago :(
Where do I start?

- GianFabien 4y agoHave you looked at no-code and low-code options? From your description of your POC (MVP?) such tools might be what you are looking for.
- ioblomov 4y agoAgree no/low-code tools are the way to go. Airtable, for example, can address 80+% of what you describe, if not more, and integrations for whatever functionality is missing will get you the rest of the way… https://www.airtable.com/integrations https://www.airtable.com/integrations
- boobapop 4y agoYea. I mean mvp Can airtable be used for apps as well. Like. Can I use airtable to release an app? Any other no code options?
- ioblomov 4y agoYes, I’ve used Airtable to make a Slack bot, for example. But your mileage will vary depending on the specific requirements. In general, you’ll be sacrificing app performance for development velocity vs a custom solution built by full-stack devs. For an overview of the entire no/low-code space, see https://www.bitcot.com/low-code-no-code-platforms-the-perfect-solution/ https://www.bitcot.com/low-code-no-code-platforms-the-perfec...
- hayst4ck 4y agoBefore you start, you should ask yourself what order of magnitude of time you think this will take?
- _448 4y agoDjango for backend and Flutter for fronted, Pushpin for notifications and SQLite or PostgreSQL for database. That will get you through almost all of the development: for web and mobile apps.
