I'm trying these colors as a tweak of dark solarized in my terminal. The contrast is improved, yes, but on the other hand the red is breaking my mind. It is obviously red when you look at it but I keep seeing it as a magenta (albeit entirely different from the palette's actual magenta). Likewise the normalized contrast between the background and yellow and green has made yellow and green hard to distinguish. I can only conclude that the uneven contrast in vanilla solarized is a feature not a bug.
