By mind virus I mean being infected by interpreting one's circumstances through a lens that mainly serves to moralize envy and malice. Once someone has convinced you that you are a slave or a victim, it doesn't matter what you do to right the percieved wrong, the point is that now you can be relied upon to act with less humanity and dignity because you have internalized the self belief that you are somehow less than a full person, and that's sufficient for the purposes. It's a straight hustle and it's old as dirt. There is plenty of dignity in sweeping floors, but only if you haven't given up your own basic human dignity first.
