- scruple 4y agoAshley Madison. Was talking to my wife about that last night. One of her friends found out that her husband was using the site and I was floored to realize that, years after that hack, it's still around. I don't know why I was surprised -- it's not as if a leak / hack would curb the behavior enough to impact that companies bottom line -- but I was.

- devilbunny 4y ago> it's not as if a leak / hack would curb the behavior enough to impact that companies bottom line I mean, it’s not going to stop cheating, but you would think it would encourage the cheater to choose another venue. Dumb people are dumb, though. Rule one of doing bad things, legal or illegal: don’t talk about it with anyone who isn’t part of it. And as few of those as possible.
- doodlebugging 4y agoThis would actually probably be a great feature add-on. As soon as an elected official gets assigned an email address, sign them up on a long list of bullshit newsletters, spam sites, porn sites, and merchandise lists. See how long it takes them to pass legislation to clamp down on user tracking and spam.
