- rosnd 4y agoSame would be true of almost all oyster-based oysters.
- chrisseaton 4y agoSeems likely they served the very best they could produce? And most people thought they were still not something that could be served in a restaurant.
- erehweb 4y agoI would imagine they mean "could be served in a restaurant as a very close substitute to oysters". Mushrooms and seaweed are perfectly edible as-is and can be served in a restaurant, but people would not confuse them for oysters.
