In southern Germany there's a dish called Maultaschen (similar to Ravioli) that used to go by the name "Herrgottsbscheißerle" (swabian dialect, literally "little god cheaters"). During the easter week it was prohibited to eat meat before easter sunday, so they put the meat inside the dumplings, so god could not see it.
