- djbusby 4y agoYes, PDF sucks. But when I need print perfect output, it's the only thing that works. All the HTML print options fail on complex layout or odd shapes (like 80mm receipts). Cheers to FF for their rendering improvement but let's not pretend PDF is terrible/hated.
- shakezula 4y agoIs pdf that bad? I personally like it for being one of the more reliable formats for packaging rich text deliverables.
- derbOac 4y agoAlso it defines a published "unit" that one can do things with, in a single file. The article seems to assume that the interactivity of websites is paramount. I don't think that's always the case.
- Ekaros 4y agoI'm perfectly happy to have single document in single file with no interactivity. I'm to read or browse it not to play with it. Think of office documents. Why would I want to interact with them?
- hulitu 4y ago> Mozilla deserves our love for implementing a better PDF reader in the new Firefox browser, 106. It takes away the pain, just a bit, by doing in-browser renderings that can be annotated, decreasing the chance you'll have to find a third-party reader that does what you need. All browsers PDF viewers suck big time. Mozilla shall work on implementing proper printing. Damn, even Netscape was better at printing web pages.
