Personally, foods with a lot of glutamate give me a headache and make me want to take a nap. I imagine that's due to the excitatory effect which is dismissed by the meta-study authors. If perhaps Big MSG (TM) really did fund a giant meta-analysis to persuade people that MSG fears are unfounded, and well-meaning journalists want everyone to believe that anti-MSG thought is just racist conspiracy, well, that's their karma.
