Am hearing (grapevine) that a lot of people are taking Musk up on the 'c̶a̶k̶e̶ severance, please' option regarding his "take 3 months severance or sign up for eternal death-march" deadline that just passed.
It's going to be interesting to find out what those numbers are, and what sort of engineer stayed. If you think enough of yourself and your abilities, you'd have to be really risk-averse to stay for that sort of "offer", IMHO.
- mikkergp 4y agoPlatformer said 25% staying? Which probably gets Musk Closer to that 75% layoff number he originally said he was looking for. It's probably a good sign for him that he keeps having to set new ultimatums. Lots of people want to stay. Looks like the ultimatum was 5pm Eastern, so i guess it's done. edit: Apparently I misinterpreted this as a stick when it's a carrot, people get to work remote. https://nitter.net/ZoeSchiffer/status/1593366901979172864#m https://nitter.net/ZoeSchiffer/status/1593366901979172864#m
- sidibe 4y agoI'd "stay" if I depended on Twitter for a visa until I can get the next job lined up. That's probably what's going on for many of the ones who aren't leaving
