This looks like an an attempt to capture some revenue, while providing similar benefits to those standby passengers get. I’m general, travel that can only be books day before is not great for planned trips. However, lots of people use it to see places and do things they otherwise wouldn’t have. ( I’ll go to Denver for lunch) ( I’ll fly to see a long distance partner) ( so and so is playing a concert I want to go to and the tickets are cheap). From frontiers perspective, the marginal cost of anther pax is small, compared to the sunk cost of running one flight. Why is this different than airpass? Airpass allowed unlimited travel on any days with very few restrictions. This doesn’t allow booking ahead, or on busy days, thus if you really need to travel, you will have to pay.
