- gjsman-1000 4y agoSo says The Atlantic, a newspaper widely understood to be left-leaning. However, what they do not say in the article, is guess who Sam Bankman-Fried was? He was the second largest Democratic donor according to MarketWatch. SBF helped the Democratic Party immensely, financially, in winning the 2022 Election with his "effective altruism," which this article from a left-wing outlet conveniently quietly ignores when advocating for it. The "charitable giving" they are talking about actually refers to massive political party donations. It's obvious why they'd advocate it and are scared that the SBF incident threatens a growing cash cow - and the fact they do not even acknowledge that he was a Democratic Party donor (let alone massive) shows The Atlantic is far from honest with their motives here.
