It's the same as with other words, including the some of the "x-words" (the n-word, c-word, f-word, p-word, and whatever else Americans came up with). They should all be possible to write and utter as long as they are not written and uttered as a slur. Saying that "something is crazy" doesn't really victimize anybody. Intention should matter much more than it currently does. I really hope we are at the point where the pendulum swings back to the place where people understand that again.
