- elischleifer 4y agoprice predictability is super important in this space. usage based metrics are straight forward to understand around AWS. Burn more machines...cost more $. that equation is easy to understand and predict for. systems where the utilization of the service are not obvious, predictable, understood as a metric upfront are really annoying. we can understand what it costs to run a machine and we have history running services on X number of boxes....the same cannot be said for...how many keys or words I type a day for example.
