Let's see... stay at Twitter and work in person 80 hours a week on software to try to avoid going bankrupt, OR find a new fully remote job with more reasonable expectations. Hard choice.
- mindcrime 4y agoNot to mention three months worth of free money for quitting. The calculus seems pretty straightforward...
- MonkeyMalarky 4y agoDoes the email have any weight in court if he decides to renege on the 3 months severance part?
- prirun 4y agoI'd do it in a heartbeat if they paid the 3 months severance upfront. But the way things are going, Twitter might not be around in 3 months to pay monthly severance, and I'm guessing if Twitter files for bankruptcy, there goes your severance. I'd probably click the link to stay, start looking for a new job, and take unemployment if they fire me before I found a new job. I wouldn't work more than 40 hours for that asshole though. He's just coming right out and saying "Are you willing to take a huge pay cut to bail out my ass?" And for me, the answer is "No fucking way you nutjob billionaire!"
- mindcrime 4y agoYeah, that's fair. I was operating on the assumption that the severance payment would indeed be up-front. It's always been that way the couple of times I've encountered that sort of scenario. If not, your point certainly holds.
